My house is filled with cats and guitars. When I heard that Kate of Hauspanther fame was producing an art show celebrating the connection between cats and guitars, well, you know I had to send some of my art there. I thought of just photographing our house, showing all the cats hanging around all the guitars, but that would just reveal what terribly messy people we are.
Instead, I made four cool cats playing guitars shaped pillows. Below is a photo from the gallery showing them in place for the show.
Cats and Guitars, the show, runs for the month of January at a cool gallery in Phoenix, AZ, called Chartreuse. If you live in Phoenix or will be visiting there sometime this month, be sure to visit the show. I’d love to hear what you think of the show. Meow.
Once upon a time, long ago, I sang in a band. In bars. In the recording studio. I sang. We even made a CD. I made a website for that band and CD so I could share it with you. Enjoy.
When it’s April in Texas, that means it is festival time and the bluebonnets are blooming. This weekend alone, there’s the Main Street Art Festival in downtown Fort Worth, there’s a Taco Festival in Deep Ellum, it’s Record Store Day and lots of area shops have free stuff happening, the Bath House at White Rock Lake has the Art Mart, there’s a Guitar Show at Market Hall and best of all, the Bluebonnet Festival in Ennis. I’ve been to all of these one time or another except the Taco Festival, this is the first year for it. A few years back when we went to the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival, it was one of those perfect years for blooms, plenty of warmth, sun and rain. I shot a lot of fabulous photos and I’m sharing some those with you now. Get out and have some fun this weekend. Enjoy.
I’ve been busy, busy, busy for the last couple of weeks but I thought I should stop what I was doing and wish everyone a happy holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
UPDATE: Guitars have been moved to my shop. You know you want one. Click here.
There are four cool cats raising a ruckus over in my Etsy shop. Please someone buy one and give it a new home. I can hardly get any sleep with all their wailing and all the other critters in the shop are complaining. Thanks.
Here’s a couple of rockin’ cool cats I drew, sewed and stuffed recently. They’re over in my Etsy shop right now. I have several more to add in the coming days. Everybody needs a cool cat. Go get yours, don’t be the last on your block to rock.
My husband Mike‘s band The Big Guns is playing this Saturday night in Dallas at Lee Harvey’s, our favorite dive bar. Always a fun time especially when the roller derby girls are having their after bout party as they are this Saturday night. If you live in Dallas or are lucky enough to be visiting, do drop by. You won’t be sorry. Here’s a fun little video of The Big Guns from a few years back for your enjoyment.
