Chaste (Vitex) Tree

Right next to my pomegranate bush I have a Chaste/Vitex tree that blooms around the same time as the pom. I just wish my two hot pink crepe myrtles would bloom then too, what a colorful yard I’d have, hot orange pom blooms, deep purple Chaste/Vitex flowers and bright pink myrtles. But the orange and purple blooms  do a good job of keeping the yard from being  just too green. According to some sources online, like this one, the Chaste/Vitex tree has medicinal and spice uses as well as adding color to the yard. I haven’t tried any of the medicinal uses yet, but a pepper smell is evident when near the leaves and berries and I may give the spice aspect a try.
