big mouth catToday was very slow at work so I spent the day playing in Illustrator. I decided to interpret my big mouth cat drawing as streamlined illustration suitable for gift-wrap, fabric or even sheets etc. I created six different colorways. Clicking on the image below will take you to my Flickr site where you can view larger versions of each colorway.

This was so much more fun that what I usually work on. What do I usually work on you ask? I work at a dental college in the media department. My regular work is mostly scanning xrays and inter-oral slides so that the images can be used in PowerPoint lectures. Or I receive emailed black & white drawings from books and journals and colorize them, add dimension and clean them up for PowerPoint. Many times I animate them as well in PowerPoint. But I much prefer to work on my stuff. I get tired of teeth. Somedays I complain that I wish I could work on a different body part and my boss reminds me that could get ugly.

Ha-haa! I like your sense of humor.
Do you moonlight as a graphic designer by any chance?

No, my day job is as a graphic designer. I spend my daylight hours in Adobe Creative Suite. I moonlight as an artist without a computer, fiber, yarn, paper mache, you name it.
