Beyond Crocheted Critters
Sometimes I get bored crocheting critters. Sometimes. Today is one of those sometimes. I am in the middle of creating a custom crocheted critter destined to be a Valentine’s Day gift so I can not procrastinate as much as I would like to. If I didn’t have this deadline in my face, I think I would still want to spend the weekend crocheting, but not a critter. No, I would be trying to figure out how to make this dress since there is no way on this planet that I can afford to plunk down $550 for a dress no matter how incredibly gorgeous it is.
Yes, I believe it is worth every penny. It is hand crocheted. It looks amazing. It is made of Pima cotton. Look at those colors. Look at those stitches. I want this dress. I need this dress. I am obsessed with this dress.
Damn you Peruvian Connection and your wonderful works of art that I will never be able to afford. Sigh. End of rant. Back to critter creation.
Witchy Hands
I just got the new Lion Brand Yarn newsletter and immediately wished I knew how to knit. I love these gloves. They would be so fun to wear all winter, just for the heck of it. Click on the picture to be taken to the free pattern, but if you haven’t signed up before on Lion Brand Yarn‘s website, you’ll have to sign up now to get the pattern. Enjoy.

FREE
Recently Lion Brand Yarn announced on their facebook page
Enjoy some inspiration! All Lion Brand patterns are now free! Please note that we do still have a few paid patterns from outside designers.
They have a vast quantity of really fun and cool patterns for crochet, knitting and crafts. I’ve had my eye on a couple of patterns I hadn’t had sprung for yet, now I don’t have to worry about feeling like I’m spending money frivolously – cause they’re FREE.
But I don’t think I’ll be crocheting this one anytime soon… (more…)

Cat Fur Purses
My friend Donna in Atlanta sent me this video and I had to share it with all you knitters out there. Persian cat fur purses. Enjoy!
Another Day, Another Catalog

Do you receive catalogs in the mail that just make you sigh and wish you’d win the lottery? I do. But I never buy a lottery ticket, so no chance I’ll ever win. But when the newest Peruvian Connection catalog hits my mailbox, I start lusting. The most beautiful sweaters I have ever seen.
Also the most expensive.![]()
The photos make me drool, I can’t even imagine how glorious they appear in real life. Their newest edition, Resort 2008, has all the spectacular hand knitted, multi-colored, detailed patterned sweaters that they are known for, including these two colorful items designed by Kaffe Fassett. (more…)
Knit Stamps
Well, this holiday is certainly well knit, isn’t it? Not much for crocheters. Maybe next year. I did purchase some of these stamps this afternoon. I downloaded this image from the USPS and you’ll notice that they marked through the price, didn’t want anyone printing these and trying to rip off the USPS. I found another image that’s zoomed in a bit more, but you’ll notice that it has last year’s stamp price. Click on the pic to see it.
Here’s the blurb from the USPS website:
For the 2007 holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service will issue Holiday Knits, four stamps featuring classic Christmas-time imagery designed and machine knitted by nationally known illustrator Nancy Stahl: There is a dignified stag; a snow-dappled evergreen tree; a perky snowman sporting a top hat; and a whimsical teddy bear.
I think these stamps will be perfect for the envelopes that contain my crocheted critter holiday greetings. Don’t you agree?
