and I hope the weather is fine for Saturday’s White Rock Local Market. Come on by to pick up some fresh local grown produce and a few wonderful creations offered by the area’s best artisans. I’ll be there with loads of my critter creations including a pile of catnip snakes and bugs and crocheted critters including my latest, Paula the pit bull. Hope to see you there. The market takes place from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, May 11 on Buckner Blvd. @ Northcliff Dr. in the Green Spot parking lot.
Here’s my latest custom creation, a St. Bernard on a ski. A customer saw my cat on a ski and asked if I’d do a St. Bernard, black line on the same hot pink fabric I’d made some other critter pillows from. Well, I have no more of that particular fabric so the customer said perhaps I could make one of realistic colors and I offered to get out the acrylics and paint onto some nubby ivory fabric and below is the results. I like him. The customer likes him. Do you?
Hello Dallas. Hello White Rock Local Market. This Saturday, April 13 8am until 1pm will be my first venture out into the public with my critter creations. I have been hibernating for way too long. Come see all my new critter shaped pillows and lots of new catnip snakes and cockroaches. We’ll be at the Green Spot market location on Buckner. I hope to see your smiling faces in my booth.
I am back to painting on fabric, sewing and stuffing after finishing my crocheted pit bull. I hope he sells today at the Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths show. Snakes, cockroaches and relaxed cats are in various stages all over my work table. They are all headed to the White Rock Local Market next Saturday. Anything left after that will be listed in my Etsy shop. If you see something you want in these photos and don’t want to wait or take a chance on it not selling, let me know. Enjoy the pics.
In honor of the day, I present to you a group of green critters, all waiting for you in my shop. Drop by and pick up some green. Enjoy.
You may have noticed that I’m fond of brighter colors. Not a lot of browns in my work. Last month I posted a photo of a couple of custom dogs I made. The smaller dog was made using some abstract patterned tan fabric that I had more than I needed. So I have been starting to make some animal shaped pillows for my shop using the same fabric. Tan. Brown. A change of pace for me.
Keep your eyes peeled on my shop to see what other tan/beige/brown abstract patterned critters appear. Who knows? I may find some more earth tone fabrics and start creating a whole stable of brownish critters. Enjoy.
I love getting custom order requests. It makes me stretch creatively. It brings me joy to please the customer when their desires are realized. Recently, I made a couple of my dog shaped pillows as a special birthday gift for the customer’s sister. My customer was pleased and was sure her sister was going to love these pups. So I thought I’d share their photo with you, I think they look rather cute together. On their backs, I wrote the sister’s dog name that each pillow represented along with a birthday message and my signature and date. So next time you want to give something very special to someone, consider a custom critter.
It’s a new year and I figured it was time to add some new catnip filled cockroaches to my Etsy shop. Tell your cat, he’ll want one.
I’ve been adding new critter shaped pillows to the shop this week. All of these are hand drawn by me, then I sew around the drawing and stuff them. So they are, in fact, little drawings that you can hug. Enjoy.
I’ve been busy, busy, busy for the last couple of weeks but I thought I should stop what I was doing and wish everyone a happy holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
UPDATE: Guitars have been moved to my shop. You know you want one. Click here.
