Gobble Gobble

The Etsy Plush Street Team is working on another cool project as we speak. Since Thanksgiving is around the corner, we’re creating our own versions of a turkey. We’ll be posting the turkeys to the Plush Team blog Monday November 19 and you then will have through Thanksgiving Day to vote on the turkeys.

I decided to reach back into the old memory banks and recreate the turkey of my childhood. Surely you all remember tracing your hands to make turkeys. Here’s my interpretation of that turkey, sewn up in corduroy and felt with a beaded eye. Stuffed with lots of poly-fil to make him super squishy instead of super tasty. At least this turkey won’t make you feel like a plushie yourself. You know, you won’t feel stuffed! He’s available in my shop if you’d like to keep the feeling of Thanksgiving around all year long, or if you’re just fond of turkeys. Gobble gobble.

How fun! I was just thinking the other day about how cool it would be to do an amigurumi turkey with the handprint — great job!

Thanks all. Macati, didn’t you ever draw turkeys using your hand?
Zu, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, watch out.
Geckogrrl, I think you need to crochet an amigurumi turkey handprint. Get right on it!
